(B3) CURRENT HERBAL TEA BRANDS

Niche

With this product, there is a direct correlation between wellness, art, and fashion. Niche draws you in with its bright artistic innovative packaging. All packaging is sustainable and unique within the marketplace. Whilst many tea companies use boxes for their packaging, the unique cylindrical design used by Niche stands out from the crowd.

Hand blended in the UK, Niche was born after its creator was having issues with her skin and then developed into a successful business winning the independent’s best product award for Tea companies.

Tea Pigs

As their name suggests, Tea Pigs has a quirky feel to it from the start. Simplistic, retro designs playing with different packaging from brown paper to tins. They boast as being the first certified plastic-free tea on their website utilizing recyclable and reusable packaging.

Tea Pigs has an interactive website encouraging you to use the mood-o-meter or to select what type of tea you are looking for to narrow down the selections.

As a B Corp Certified company, Tea Pigs is all about sustainability and giving back to the communities involved with their product, employees, and customers alike. They raise money via their own ethical scheme which they highlight at the top of their homepage.

Rishi

This brand was highlighted by the illustrator that I worked with on this project. She was particularly drawn to the packaging that displayed its own piece of artwork for each tea. Really simplistic in design but eye-catching and beautiful.

This was also the company that inspired the use of jars within the project. Whilst Rishi does not use jars for their tea, they do use them for some of the spices they supply. Rishi strives for sustainability with its products and only sold loose tea up until 2013. Even though they knew offering their teas in a tea bag held high financial gain, the options available did not meet the quality standard of the company whilst being respectful to the environment.
