(B3) HERBATICA
- The illustrators and I spent some time on Behance looking at similar projects to ours, conceptually and practically. This project stood out to all of us and we admired both the design and illustration put into the entirety of this project
- A lot of this is down to how similar the themes are between our projects and obviously we have an interest in this subject. But, the artwork is beautiful and has really inspired me and the illustrators for our own project
- We both thought it was effective having different illustrations for each tea to give you an impression of the tea before even trying it. This is something we considered for our project even though we have chosen a colour scheme, we could perhaps alter this depending on the illustrations we choose to do
- We thought about this because a lot of the tone in the illustrations was set by the colours used to like, the Full Moon tea uses a range of blues which in this context is associated with sleep and night time
- The illustrations are soft and flow together nicely due to the soft brushes used and organic shapes. The range of colours all working cohesively to make the design really pleasurable to look at. We all said we would buy this product for the packaging alone.
- The typeface has a similar art nouveau sort of style to it like ours and it does complement the sort of illustrations they have been doing
- The packaging design is practical and would work as an actual product. We are yet to discuss this as collaborators apart from we intend to make it all sustainable as we are all very passionate about socially conscious design
- The instructions on the back are difficult to read in their image of the packaging but, I can see a few simple step-by-step brewing illustrations that I think would be an amazing addition to our packaging. We have researched the best way to make loose-leaf herbal tea so, it is a matter of illustrating that.
- The typesetting is a simple left- align but, I think that was appropriate for this project as the illustrations are already so elaborate
