(B4) WATER BUBBLES

  • I thought I could combat the issue by using the same effect on shapes to look like bubbles of water that I tried putting the type into.
  • However, for each different quote on the back of the book, I would need to do a bubble and to fit it all on the type would need to be very small and would lose legibility.
  • Instead of the bubbles, I thought I could make it look like gaps in the water where the type could sit and not lose its legibility.
  • It was more difficult to make this look like realistic water because of applying the different lighting effects to cause the three- dimensional appearance.
  • The first type that I had applied this effect too was Helvetica bold, I tried using a serif font and doing the effect to that to see if it worked better. I still do not think the overall design looks very considered and lacks the finesse that the post-winners designs had.
  • I may revisit the Buckminster Fuller inspired nets and see what I can do with those ideas instead.
