PDF PRESENTATION

  • I really struggled for the 'About' and studio name for myself. It is something I have thought about but, I never really looked at it in this much detail
  • I have an Instagram account where I post my design work and just recently, I have tried to make it look my own as such
  • The name Non-Dxscript came from a joke I had at college. When studying my level three in art and design/ graphics, I was the only one that had never done an art course in the past and had a very academic background. When people used to ask what my style was I used to reply "Non- descript", because I didn't really understand the question for a long time. It stuck from then and its just what I named my design account later.
  • It still works for me because I still do not have a fixed style or medium
  • As for the typography, I have always been drawn to the original black letter fonts of the past, especially the more modern iterations seen today
  • It also reflects how I started learning digital design/ illustration, I used to (and still) draw my designs and then trace over on the computer or just edit it. Similar, to how this typeface has made it to the screens.
  • With that, the use of the traditional black letter styled font against the more computer-generated appearance of the other type tries to show my interest in both traditional and digital mediums
  • As for colour schemes, if I could only red, white and black for the entirety of my career, I would not mind. I naturally go to that colour pallette when thinking of designs.
