Gothic style can vary depending on location, age and the type of building (the purpose as such). (B5) HISTORY OF GOTHIC ARCHITECTURE

Gothic architecture as a style across Europe lasted from the mid-12th century to the 16th century.  One of the first iterations of these buildings was the Abbey of Saint-Denis, Paris (c. 1135-44) see below. Characterised by its large spaces (or cavernous) and walls decorated with large stain glass windows with tracery - look at key features blog. 12th -13th century, advances within the engineering sector permitted gigantic buildings.
