ZINE

I had tried the design both with a black background for the front and back cover of the zine and without it (so, the same background as the rest of the zine). I do think the on the colourful background looks appealing but, the legibility of the logotype is hugely disrupted. Even with a black drop shadow, it is difficult to read so, in the end we chose to go with the black background. Obviously, the zine now has Kira's liquified image that is used on the business cards making all of the deliverables succinct. The iridescent filters and neon lights effects that I added to the images worked effectively with the background as they all had similar characteristics. It gave the overall design a collage like appearance which is what Rhianna wanted. I also added the chrome iconographic symbol Kira had designed, in the corner of the poster to further instil the brand identity.

If this had been a self-initiated brief for a made up photographer (basically where I would have full creative freedom). I would have liked to edit the images further using the cyber space and psychadellic themes. I would have tried to create intricate AR experiences or even interactive posters to embed the futuristic elements. However, there was not enough time for this within the brief and it is not what the client asked for (based on the requirements of her own deadline). Nevertheless, Kira and I have offered to collaborate with Rhianna after graduation when there will be no strain of a deadline.
